Building Dreams: CLDA Students Visit Fort Fisher Job Site
On Tuesday, January 9th, 2024, Brawley had the privilege of hosting a group of 7th-grade students from New Hanover County Schools (NHCS) as part of a partnership with the Career and Leadership Development Academy (CLDA) through the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce. The event was designed to provide students with an immersive experience, introducing them to career pathways in the construction industry. The day began with an engaging Q&A session featuring insights from some of our industry leaders: Business Development Manager - Jason Ezzell, Corporate Safety Manager - Brandon Simpkins, Corporate Quality Control Manager - Walt Lederle, and Assistant Project Manager - Tony Pavlick.
Following the Q&A, students were taken on a guided tour of Brawley's active job site at Fort Fisher, offering a behind-the-scenes look at a construction project in action. The event concluded with a fun and interactive hands-on building project, giving students a chance to apply what they learned throughout the day.
Brawley is grateful to the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce and the local community for supporting this incredible program. Together, we’re helping to build the future by encouraging young minds to explore careers in construction.
