Paradise Cove Condos Groundbreaking

Carolina Beach, NC - On Wednesday, September 14th Mark Loudermilk Architecture, the Paradise Cove HOA, Brawley, and the Town of Carolina Beach held a groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the start of construction of the Paradise Cove Condominium building.  In April 2021, a fire ripped through Paradise Cove that destroyed 12 homes and left three people to jump from the second and third stories in order to get to safety. Others had to go to the hospital for minor injuries.

Stan Dreibelbis, a resident of Paradise Cove, had no idea what he was going to come home to.

“Every homeowner in the complex lost everything. It burnt completely to the ground,” he said.

Now 17 months later, Mark Loudermilk Architecture and Brawley have been working hard to bring people back to the place they once called home.  Speakers at the event included architect Mark Loudermilk, Paradise Cove HOA board members, and mayor of Carolina Beach, Lynn Barbee.  When complete the new construction building will be a 3 story, wood framed, R-2 condominiums with 12 units in total.
